You may think one propane company is as safe as the next. At Ferrellgas, safety is a part of everything we do. Before delivering propane to you, our Employees must undergo extensive classroom and hands-on training. Here are some examples of our commitment to safety.

Safety training
At your request, we can provide propane safety training for you, either in your home or at your business. Our propane professionals can train you on how to safely handle propane and help your family or employees determine what to do in an emergency.

The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) explains the chemical makeup of propane, as well as the personal protective measures to take when handling propane and the steps to take in case of accidental exposure on the job. Before You Dig

• Call the Diggers Hotline (811) before you dig
• Before you dig on your property contact a line locator service to locate your underground lines
• The size and location of your gas system may require compliance with federal, state, or local laws. For example, underground lines that run under a public place may require that you register with the Digger’s Hotline/”One-Call” Program in your state. Consult the authorities in your state and the Office of Pipeline Safety http://ops.dot.gov.

Ferrellgas Installation Review
The Ferrellgas Installation Review (FIR) is a 27-point inspection of the exterior, visible parts of your propane tank or system.

FerrellMeter® leak-detection system
The FerrellMeter® leak-detection system was invented by the propane safety professionals here at Ferrellgas. This approach allows us to efficiently monitor our Customer’s propane tank or system. If we do find a leak or other defect that is resulting in an unsafe environment, our professionals can respond immediately to resolve the problem that is affecting the propane tank or system, even the Customer is away.

Quality Reviews
The Ferrellgas Quality Review program is a model for the propane industry. Approximately 240 safety and operational items are reviewed annually at our retail locations.
